LYRICS

Written by Austin Stahl, ©2004.

Pictures of our inhibition. Pictures spread out beneath the kitchen light. You've always seen only in black and white. You're flooded with memories, thought you'd left at the sea. But the tides won't wash away just anything for free. Squandered chances bathed in autumn light. No need to hold me back, I love a fight. I wasn't always a sailor, hiding out in the waves. I was born terrified of water, but now I'm safe.

Vladimir and Gabriel. You know I still have those books we bought, the day before your love got lost, but you know I haven't read a word since that night. Well I guess I ought to loan you a few now that what you did to me he's done to you. I think we've still got a few chapters to write, You and I. So please forgive the confusion, 'Cause I forget what happens next. And please don't give away the ending just yet.
